Here we are again. Each week seems to fly by! The goon news is that even though I went camping and ate camp food, I still have managed to loose 2 pounds this week! I've kept up my exercise and on Monday I started my friend Karen's diet. This diet is based around the
Michael Thurmond's 6-week body makeover. She did not buy the whole diet packet, she borrowed information from someone else who had. So she gave me a list of what she has been eating and I am now taking from that list and making it my own. I know I should really just find what works for me, and I am trying.
So here's mainly what I've been eating. Egg whites, oranges (supposed to be grapefruit but the store didn't have any when I went), chicken, brown rice, vegetables, ground turkey, and greens for my salads. All healthy, not much variety. Any ideas for really yummy salads would be appreciated. I need to go shopping again though.....

I love salads with red onion, cucs, walnuts, mandarin oranges, low fat feta cheese, a little avo and balsamic vinegar. Pretty simple but good. Also you might want to check out hungrygirl.com. Love ya, Susan
good job!!! thanks for adding the diet... not sure if i can stick to that though, i might get bored:)
I fixed a good taco salad the other night. Browned ground turkey and added cumin, oregano, garlic, salt, pepper. Put shredded lettuce on the bottom, then turkey, chopped green peppers, avocados, tomatoes, cucumber, and topped it with fresh salsa. Bob loved it too.
Then, next night did fat free Caesar dressing on chopped romaine with tomatoes and grilled chicken on top.
Also, did a barley soup with chicken, chopped onions, celery, bell peppers, broccoli, chicken and veggie broth and can of chopped tomatoes. Added italian seasoning. It was great and made enough to freeze for two more dinners.
Did the same Caesar again with grilled shrimp. Don't know if I am losing much weight, but we sure are eating well. Bob is losing, though.
I will weigh in next week, but with my birthday coming up, it is hard. (Always an excuse, huh?)
Love,
Grandma Dee
Oh, and another good salad is chopped lettuce topped with flaked tuna, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, raw sunflower seeds, and olive oil drizzled over the top with squeezes of lemon juice.
Enjoy!
It is sooo hard for me to stick to plans.

Just starting this and hope to make progress with the support of everyone participating :)
