Kicking off the 2010 walk

Team Safe at Second got together this past Friday for the first time since the walk. It was so good to see everyone again. Although we all live so close it has been hard to get together. We are going to start our weekly walks again this Sunday and it is hard to believe that we are about 8 months away from our 2010 walk. One of our teammates, Sue, put together this video that I thought you may enjoy. I can't wait to do it again!!

WOW!!! What an amazing video. The pictures were wonderful, the songs played were heart tugging to say the least! It's amazing what the human spirit can do. So glad and proud that you and your team were a part of the 3 day breast cancer walk last year. And it sounds like you are all doing again this year. An incredible worthy cause. Love you, Susan

I talked with my friend Patti today that you made a ribbon for her on your 3 day cancer walk. I mentioned to her that you all were going to do the walk again this year. She wanted me to let you know that she would like to be a sponsor/donator to the cause. Patti was diagnosed with breast cancer 20 years ago and was cancer free up until 5 years ago. After undergoing radiation she is doing great!! She was so touched that you carried a ribbon with her name on it that she wants to thank you any way she can. Thank you, Tasha for touching so many lives.

Love you, Susan

Tasha..I have been super emotional today because it is coming on a year that Shannan passed away. So all those emotions have come flooding past me. And then I look at your blog and video and I am reminded of the good that can come out of tragedy. You are an amazing woman and I love you

OK, now I am crying. What an awesome video. It is such an incredible depiction of your experience. It is the best example of what a great, inspiring, moving experience you had. I am so proud of you!
I am crying for two reasons: I am so bummed that I have this plantar fasciitis because I had wanted to walk in the Santa Barbara Avon Walk and now I can't train for it or do it. But, then I am reminded that the pain in my feet is nothing compared to the pain and loss that brave women go through each day they discover they have breast cancer. The other reason I am crying is because yesterday was the 30 year anniversary of my dad's death from cancer. I remember it today as clearly as when it happened. I spent yesterday at a funeral for a friend's 24 year old daughter. She died from complications due to Marfan's disease. It plagued her for many years but every day she chose to do something loving, kind and inspiring for someone else. Such a young woman and yet such a wise spirit. She was an angel that lived here to give joy and enrichment to other people's lives. You are like that, too, Tasha. I wish you much joy, luck and inspiration on your trek again this year. Love you, honey, Denise.

Thank you for stopping by The Jason Show and welcoming me to the team! I am looking forward to this experience. It was so nice to meet you at this get together and I look forward to getting to know you over the next few months.

And yes, Sue did a wonderful job on the video!

Yasha, what a beautiful, amazing video that captures the spirit of your walk. It was beautiful that you participated in that experience. You are truly a giver and a person that always thinks of others. Thank you for carrying the ribbon for my sister, Mindy.
Hugs and love, Paula
