Happy Halloween
The boys had a great day and night. Zach had a harvest festival at his school, which Garrett and Kevin were able to go to (Kevin had no school, but I had to work). After I got home from work we carved pumpkins and then the boys went out trick-or-treating around 6:30 and we didn't get back until 8:00. They are having a very special night as they are still awake, watching t.v. in mommy and daddy's room. I hate to end the festivities, but I think I need to get to sleep too!

Halloween Disney
Two Sundays ago we took yet another trip down to Disneyland. It was super crowded, but luckily there are enough things to do there without actually going on rides. We did manage to go on Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Carribean, and Snow White. We also went to an area where they were carving pumpkins and Kevin was especially amazed by their carving talents.

1 WEEK LEFT!
It was a little more than a year ago that I decided that I wanted to run a marathon. At the time it seemed like I had forever to train. Now, I have 1 week left before the marathon!! I went out yesterday for a 10 mile run, my last long one before the REAL DEAL! So this week I will be taking it easy, enjoying all the Halloween festivities, and trying to gear up mentally for this challenge.......

"I'm Growing Up, Mom!"
We bought some face paint the other day so that we would have it for Zach's Halloween costume. Kevin's been dying to play around with it, so I finally said that he could paint his face yesterday. When I asked what he wanted to do on his face, he showed me a picture he had drawn that he wanted to do. It was supposed to be scary, with scars and blood dripping down. When I saw the picture I said, "That's kind of scary Kevin, don't you want to paint something cute?" He responded with,
"I'm growing up, Mom!"

Happy Birthday Graham!
Since I'm terrible at remembering to send actual cards, I had to post a birthday wish to my big brother. I'm so excited that he and his family, along with my parents will be coming down here for Thanksgiving this year. We don't spend nearly enough time together!
Hope you have a great day Graham!!

Pumpkin Time
We have been to the pumpkin patch twice so far, and will probably go again one more time before Halloween since Garrett has not gone yet.....and we have yet to actually buy pumpkins. The first trip was just Zach and I. We went to Underwood Farms in Moorepark. It was super hot out and so we managed to stay a few hours with a break for a popsicle in the middle. Our second trip, we went to Lombardi Ranch. I took both boys and they were both more interested in eating their carmel apples than looking at anything at the pumpkin patch.

I'm 34 now
I had a wonderful birthday yesterday. Thanks for all the birthday calls and e-mails!! I did have to work, but I guess most people have to do that on their special day. The boys and I hung out in the afternoon. Then I went for a run after opening some cool presents. And we ended the evening with a dinner out to Woodranch Grill and I got to have some RIBS!
My sweet boys!
Nothing better than an ice cream kiss!

Whirlwind Weekend
Another busy weekend for this girl. A lot of driving, but a lot of fun too. On Saturday I drove up, first to San Jose where I picked up my bib number and timing chip for the Rock and Roll Half Marathon. Then I headed over to San Mateo where I was staying at Sandy's place. After bringing my things in I went out for a short run. It was so nice to be able to run in the middle of the day, without it being 100 degrees out! After cleaning myself up I then drove in to San Francisco where I was meeting friend from High School. My friend Melissa lives there and my friend Maile was there to take family pictures of Melissa, her husband, and her cute little boy! And Maile's sister Kelly, who I haven't seen in about 15 years was there too. I had such a fun time and definitely got an ab workout from all the laughing. These girls are crazy!!
After a fun night out I drove back to San Mateo to get some sleep before waking up early to go back to San Jose and run in the race. I was able to get there in plenty of time and was waiting at the starting area when I saw my mom, dad, Tina, and Lauren. This made me so happy and gave me the extra energy that I needed to run this race. The race went great! I didn't over exert myself and felt good the whole time through. I had placed my self in the 2 hr. 30 minute group on paper, to be on the safe side, but I quickly caught up to the 2:15 pace group. After staying with them for a mile or so, I decided I could go faster! I ended up with an official time of 2:08:09! So I felt great about it and am now ready to head into my last weeks of training for the full one (4 weeks left).

It's Finally October!
The boys have been counting down the days until October 1st because that's the day that I said we could start decorating for Halloween. When they started seeing decorations at the neighbors houses during the last week in September they were sure to tell me how "mean" I was for making them wait......
Spiderman/biker dude - no this is not what he's going to be this year....he just loves to dress up at any possible time
