Christmas Eve

It's strangely quiet around here.  There are no kids asking me to get up and go downstairs with them.  There are no boys fighting and yelling at 7:00 in the morning....well at least not here, but maybe they are at Grandpa and Grandma Dee's house!  Yes, the boys had a night at the grandparents last night, that was promised to be full of movies and hot chocolate.  I am so thankful for that too, because I got almost everything done last night.  But as you can see I am not one for sleeping in, even if the kids are away.  I have a few more things to do this morning.  I am making my mom's mom's (my grandma Smith) recipe for spaghetti sauce and meatballs to have on Christmas day.  I hope it turns out yummy.  I know it's not the traditional Christmas day dinner and we're not even Italian, but it's all about the family coming together and enjoying each others company, right?

As you can see the stockings are all hung.  At our house the stockings are always to heavy to stay hung once they are filled, so Santa sets them at the bottom of the fireplace.  You can also see the present waiting for me.  It's been sitting under the tree for a couple weeks.  I just can't imagine what it might be!

Here's wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!  I will share pictures of our Christmas morning adventures soon.  Love to you all!!

Tasha, I am so glad you had some time by yourself to get things done. Christmas Day is going to be such fun, especially seeing the excitement on the boys faces. We are anxious to taste the speg. and meatballs. Merry Christmas Eve and we will see you tomorrow.

I'm glad that you were able to get everything done last night! I almost have everything done for today. We dropped Paul and Brooke at the train station last night at 5:30. Grandma Millie LOVED the present Kevin gave her at our rowdy Saturday Christmas party...she mentioned it several times...it really touched her heart! We are so looking forward to seeing you this afternoon and sharing more Christmas fun! It gets really cold at night...are you going to bring the bed for Dodger? Love and hugs,
Paula

Yep, Grandma Dee and Grandpa are having a great time with Kevin and Zach. We got awakened at 6 a.m. and watched Baby Einstein and Tom and Jerry's Nutcracker Suite. We all snuggled in our bed. It was THE best! I washed their clothes, made the beds and they just had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with a chocolate mint brownie for appetizer. Kevin is on his second sandwich. Zach had 6 pancakes and Kevin had 5 pancakes and 3 sausages for breakfast. I still have to shower and get ready to go to Namie's. We are so excited. Thanks for giving me my Christmas gift: a night with Mr. K and Mr. Z. Merry Christmas!
