Could Be Better

Yes, those are pictures of the passenger window on my car.....
Last night I went to a party for work.  We had a great time, ate great food, had a gift exchange, and a cookie exchange.  I walked out with a friend and as I went around to my side of the car she said, "This is your car, Tasha?"  I thought she was teasing me about the minivan factor, but instead she said, "Your whole window is smashed in!"
I left my purse in the car, under the console, as I often do because I hate carrying it around.  Well, somebody felt free to smash in the window and help themselves to my purse.   I was the only one it happened to.  My friend had her purse in her car too, but they probably just took mine and drove off quickly.
The police came, I told the story, they took down info but there's not much they can do.  If any of you have seen the movie Superbad that's what came to mind as I was talking to the police.  Anyway, we have a guy out front right now putting a new window in.  All the credit cards have been cancelled.  I got a temporary license today.  I was really hoping out of all of this I would at least get a new picture on my license, but no they are using the same old one!  Garrett's been very helpful getting everything taken care of.  It's nice to have someone to do that!
So, yeah I could be better today, but life goes on.  I gotta go get myself a new purse and not leave it in the car next time.

Oh, Tasha. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. It's something that just makes you feel so violated. And thank goodness that Garrett was willing to take care of the credit card stuff. Was your cell phone in your purse too?
Be careful out there!

Oh, wow, Tasha...that was terrible! I'm glad that YOU are okay, but that is so awful to have everything in your purse taken.
I leave my purse in the car sometimes, too...when I go to the gym or church. Hmmm....I might need to change that! What a shock for you to have that happen.

Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a horrible
thing to happen. You know me, Tasha, ultra paranoid about locking doors, windows, etc. in the house being that Dennis and my house was broken into many years ago NOT once but twice. It really is such a violation of ones self. I am so glad that you and Garrett were able to cut off the credit cards, cell phone, licsense, etc. right away...........it takes good teamwork to move quickly. Things can be replaced but not loved ones so for that I am thankful. On another note we loved the pics of Kevin and Zach and you and Garrett in your Christmas card. PLUS the great Christmas letter from Garrett. I know that you two take turns in writing the Christmas letter which is great. I was so touched by Garretts loving remarks for his beautiful wife and his wonderful children. It brought tears to my eyes. It is so obvious to us all what a loving and devoted husband and father that Garrett is to his family and you to them. You are both just the BEST!!! Love, Susan, Namie and Captain Trouble

Awww Tasha, that totally sucks! I am so sorry! Uhg, you would THINK being so close the holidays people would have some compassion. That's what I get for thinking, huh? I hope that you didn't have anything dear in your bag!

Tahsa I know exactly what you are/were going through. My purse was stolen [twice] from school and it is such a violation. Thank goodness you had Garrett to help with all the stuff you have to go through.

Thats so crazy that your pic looked just like mine! lucky for me, I didn't have my purse in there...which makes me wonder what they wanted in the first place. Sorry that this happened to you too!
