A Budding Artist

Kevin loves to color, paint, and draw.   Whatever he can do related to art he is wanting to try.  I don't know where he gets it, because Garrett and I are not artistic at all.  But, I love that he has found something he likes to do so much.  This past weekend there was a Street Art Festival, where people from all over town come and do these fabulous paintings/drawings with chalk on the street.  Sidewalk chalk gone wild, pretty much.  We all went on Saturday and Kevin was just fascinated by each one.  Both Kevin and Zach loved the one of Superman of course.  But Saturday was just the first day so a lot of the pictures were not done, and as you have previously learned, Kevin likes to see things through to completion.  So he and I went back on Sunday to see the finished products.  Superman was almost complete, but he was ok with not staying until the entire thing was finished.  Especially since we went to Michael's and bought some of the same kind of chalk (soft pastels) that they were using at the festival so he could try and do his own.
The Beginnings of Superman

Kevin got to add on to this painting

Almost finished Superman

Kevin begins his own masterpiece.
A Mickey pumpkin head just like at Disneyland!

What an artist! You are so talented. Someday we will go to Paris and to the Musee d'Orsay where all the impressionist paintings are. Maybe by then, they will have some of them back at the museum at the Jeu de Paume.

Love to you Tasha and all,
Grandma Dee
