The Tooth Fairy On Halloween.

We had a fun night last night, with carving pumpkins, dressing up, and trick-or-treating. I stayed home to pass out the candy, while Garrett went out with the boys.  This was the first year that I didn't go around with them.  Garrett came back after about 15 minutes and offered to switch so I could see them trick-or-treating, but I decided I was actually okay staying at home, reading in between opening the door to the kids who came knocking.  It's hard to read a book though with so many interruptions!  Zach came home with his pumpkin bucket so excited, saying "Look at all the candy I got!"   Then to top it all off the Tooth Fairy came.  Kevin was eating some skittles from his candy loot and he came running upstairs saying, "It's out!  It's out!"  He's had this loose tooth for a few months now.  This is his second one he's lost.  He drew a picture to put under his pillow for the tooth fairy.  This morning he found a gold dollar and a note from the tooth fairy thanking him for his tooth!
Here are some pictures from the past few days for you to enjoy.

This was the costume we threw together for AWANA bible character night.  Kevin was David.  Pretty good for an old pillowcase and Garrett's old shirt!

We started the carving on Tuesday, but ran out of time.  Neither of the boys wanted to reach their hand in the pumpkins to get the goo out.

Kevin really wanted to carve his pumpkin like the Pumpkin Prayer
that he learned at church.
and so he did!
I carved a cat for Zach's pumpkin.
Kevin's other pumpkin.  That's Plankton on the front from Spongebob.  He went all out on this one and spent about 2 hours total with carving.  I don't know another kid around that has that much patience to stick with carving a pumpkin!

The great missing tooth #2!  No fake blood needed for Halloween.
Here's what he left for the tooth fairy.

Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

The pumpkins are awesome and you're right about the patience. Kevin's really got some artistic talent! You did good, too, Tash!
Grandma says she lost two teeth to butterfingers - just broke off at the gum line. Sorry to say, but she didn't get any money from the tooth fairy for those!!
Now.... what to do with all of that candy?

What fun to read all about your Halloween! I chuckled at everything. These are such fun, precious times! I loved Kevin's pumpkin from the pumpkin prayer and all the creative pumpkin carvings...they were amazing!
What fun timing to lose a tooth, too, in all of the excitement of the night.

I thought the David costume was pretty clever, too! :)
Love you guys!

i read your blog every day, it's so fun to see what you're up to. And HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY too! I've been meaning to email, but you know how it goes. The days are passing like sand through fingers. Your boys are SO BIG! I can't believe how much they look like you. And what a great job on the pumpkins! :0)
