Uncluttering Christmas

I was listening to Oprah and Friends on my XM radio in the car the other day.  They have a man on there named Peter Walsh and he's the organization/clutter guy.  So, getting ready for Christmas they had a section about uncluttering this Christmas.  I really could go for that, but the boys I think may not be ready for this.  Basically he was talking about not buying all the toys and gifts that just fill up the house and aren't memorable.  Doing things with the kids, like baking cookies, or going to see lights will be much more memorable over the years.  BUT, as I say this, I know how exciting it is to see the presents under the tree.  The boys have already picked out the things they want from the Toys R Us catalog (which is everything they see) and the truth is I want to get the boys toys and fun things.
How do we minimize the clutter though?  Hmmmm, maybe next year! :)

You're an early bird this morning. Hope you don't get worms!!

I sure know what you're talking about, and have very fond memories of getting away at Christmas when you kids were small. We'd rent a little cabin in the San Bernadino Mountains, take along a couple Christmas gifts for the two of you, and just have some good together time. You were really small, so won't remember that, but it was truly special.
I can't tell you how to do it,'cause I also like to see the kids excitement with the gifts, and I love to give gifts! So mull over it for the next year and let me know how to accomplish it too!

Oh my gosh were Kevie and Zach ever that little. Where on earth has time gone. They were and are still soooooooooooooo cute!!

I think half the fun of Christmas is seeing all the wrapped gifts under the tree and wondering what they might be. And then to see little ones eyes as big as saucer's is the best!! Enjoy, Enjoy!! Love you all, Susan

Oh Tasha,

The pix of the boys are so cute. Golly, where has the time gone. How wonderful to get to spend time with them and with you and Garrett. Zach's first Christmas seems like yesterday. There were so (too) many gifts to open that day. That was the best Christmas to be able to spend it with you guys. Grandsons are just the greatest gift each year. Oh, what to get them again this year. I already have some ideas. Can't wait for Christmas morning.

Much love to you all,
Grandma Dee
